Fun Fact: Fringe has been around for decades - 20's to be exact. Women in the 20's started wearing flapper dresses with fringe (or tassels) to express their freedom after earning the right to vote.
Flap.per: /informal/ (in the 20's) A fashionable young woman intent on enjoying herself and flouting conventional standards of behavior.
I purchased this fringe leather jacket by Blank NYC from Nasty Gal earlier last year, and I've only worn it a few times but I love it! Fringe itself already adds drama, and it also adds a little badass-ness too. You could opt for a fringe skirt with a simple top, fringe boots with a minimal outfit, or even a fringe handbag with a minimal outfit. I went for all black by pairing this sleeveless boxy leather dress from Zara, and these comfy over-the-knee boots from Public Desire. I wanted to add another semi-statement piece, so I went for this oversized fedora as my accessory to complete the look. Are you going to try fringe this Fall/Winter?
